RK Beach to get facelift

The popular tourist destination the Ramakrishna Beach would be beautified and amenities there improved, Commissioner Greater Visakhapatnam Municipal Corporation M Harinarayanan said.

During the field inspection of 17{+t}{+h}Ward on Thursday morning the Commissioner went around China Waltair, Rajaka Veedhi, Kanakamma temple, Chinna Waltair Colony and Vidya Nagar, among others and directed officials to improve the civic services. He went around the Ramakrishna Beach and inspected the facilities provided for the visitors there. He checked the functioning of the public toilets and directed officials to ensure its maintenance. He directed officials to use temporary slabs to cover open drains. After inspecting the GVMC Guest House, he instructed the civic employees and officials to do their duties sincerely or face action. He was accompanied by EEs Venkati and Sudhakar, AD (Horticulture) Damodar, City Veterinary Officer L K Sudhakar, DE K Dilip, AE Srinivas and zonal employees.

Later in the day the Commissioner gave a presentation to a delegation from Jalandhar led by its Commissioner on the development programmes in the city. The delegation was impressed by the initiatives like LED streetlighting, solid waste management, and others.
