A 25-year-old woman was found dead under suspicious circumstances in her house near Rajanagaram under Payakaraopeta police station in the district on Wednesday.

Garikina Gopamma was found in a pool of blood in her bed room with her throat slit and injuries on her head and face. She was reportedly killed by masked men, who robbed her gold ornaments.

Gopamma married Ramana of Venkatanagaram eight years ago. The couple has two sons. Gopamma had differences with her husband as he was habituated to alcohol. A few months ago, they split due to differences. Elders of both the families counselled the couple following which Gopamma and Ramana decided to live together from September 6.

Meanwhile, Gopamma was killed by unidentified persons.

The Payakaraopeta police registered a case and shifted the body to the government hospital for post-mortem.
