A total of 136 trains, including 83 express and 53 passenger trains, attained 100 per cent punctuality over Waltair Division on ‘Satarakata Diwas’ observed to monitor their punctuality as part of the ‘Rail Hamsafar Saptaah’ which concluded on Wednesday.
Divisional Railway Manager Chandralekha Mukherjee recalled the activities taken up during the week at a media conference on the concluding day. A total of Rs.1.52 lakh was realised during the ticket-checking drive in four stations.
During Satkaar Diwas all catering establishments and drinking water facilities at stations and trains were inspected and the catering units were thoroughly checked. Measures were taken to ensure that the catering establishments improved their standards and to see that the complete rate list was on display. On Sewa Diwas, nominated officers travelled on the train and interacted with passengers in all classes and amenities were provided and the grievances of the passengers redressed. Officers interacted with passengers, NGOs and the general public at 35 stations and in 52 trains as part of the Swachchata Diwas.
A meeting was held in all major freight traffic customers on Sanyojan Diwas on Tuesday.
