Puducherry CM for Congress meeting

It will discuss promises made in Bifurcation Act

A meeting of Congress leaders and workers of North Coastal districts here on December 19 will affirm its support to Rahul Gandhi’s elevation as the AICC President.

It will also discuss the promises made in the Andhra Pradesh Bifurcation Act during the UPA regime, including completion of Polavaram project and pending irrigation projects in the North Andhra and earmarking ₹ 15000 crore for development of North Andhra before 2019.

Puducherry Chief Minister V. Narayanasamy, A P Congress Committee president N. Rahuveera Reddy, MPs T. Subbarami Reddy and K.V.P. Ramachandra Rao and former ministers M.M. Pallamraju and Killi Kripa Rani and Kanumuri Bapi Raju will be among those participating on the day’s meeting that marks the 85th birth anniversary of former Congress leader Dronamraju Satyanarayana at Port Kalavani Auditorium.

Announcing details of the programme here, DCC president P. Balaraju, former Minister Kondru Muralimohan and former Government whip Dronamraju Srinivasa Rao said the birthday of the leader was being celebrated for 30 years now.

Mr. Srinivasa Rao said the meeting would focus on issues relating to the region with representatives of various wings of the party.

They recalled that Satyanarayana’s leadership for cadres in the State and how his fight against the then government led to a significant court judgment.

Mr. Balaraju said several leaders close to Satyanarayana from all over the State would participate and the meeting would set the tone for the party’s fight against the TDP regime discussing an 11-point agenda.

Party leaders Yedla Adiraju, P. Viswa Prasad, P.S.N. Raju, City Congress president Behera Bhaskara Rao and Pedada Ramana Kumari participated.
