The two separate committees formed by Andhra University as well as the District Local Complaints Committee continued their probe into the sexual harassment allegations against Sanskrit professor K. Yedukondalu on Friday. They spoke to the accused professor as well as the students of the department, who made sexual harassment allegations against Prof. Yedukondalu.

According to a student of the department, the committee questioned the students and the accused professor in two different sessions. “Later, the committee members conducted a joint inquiry by bringing Prof. Yedukondalu and the students into a single room. The students explained their harrowing experiences with the professor and how he sexually harassed them. The two research scholars, whose Ph.D. admissions were kept in abeyance, also gave their version to the committee in a separate session. We demand the officials to dismiss Prof. Yedukondalu from the services. The university committee said that they will meet us on Monday,” said the student.

Meanwhile, Prof Yedukondalu stuck to his version that it was a pre-planned plot against him. “The students levelled the allegations only after I denied them from appearing for their semester examination, which started on the same day of the incident on November 6, due to shortage of stipulated percentage of attendance,” he said.

However, sources in the university said that the authorities have also taken note of the professor being assaulted.

While the university committees will submit their reports to the varsity officials, the district local complaints committee will submit their report to the District Collector.
