Vice-Chairman of the VUDA and the Petroleum, Chemical and Petrochemical Investment Region (PCPIR) N. Yuvaraj on Thursday conducted a review on compilation of issues for the draft Master Plan (DMP) for the PCPIR proposed between Visakhapatnam and Kakinada. The meeting held at VUDA office on Thursday focused on the proposed 150-km Expressway of the PCPIR and its connectivity to the existing road network in the region.
Since the proposed express way passing through the lands of Visakhapatnam Steel Plant and GMR areas, the officials of Steel Plant and representatives of GMR were asked to submit final alignment proposals, without disturbing any habitation, within 10 days enabling the consultants to include them in the DMP. Dr. Yuvaraj interacted with officials of Roads and Buildings department and APIIC on the proposals of new roads and road-widening in PCPIR limits.
The technical studies taken up by the National Institute of Oceanography and EPTRI for evolving CRZ and environmental impact assessment in the PCPIR area were also deliberated upon. G. Suryanarayana, Head (E&M) of EPTRI at Hyderabad, gave details of compilation of seasonal data. Issue of taking up the Marine Ecology study was also mooted in the meeting.
The Vice-Chairman asked all the institutions and consultants of PCPIR to submit finalised proposals for including in the DMP for early release.
Coordinating the meeting, VUDA Chief Urban Planner R.J. Vidyullatha said most of the data has been pooled up from all the participating agencies and consultants for finalization of the Draft Master Plan.
