Leaders at mini Mahanadu hope the party will fulfil all the promises. Though a party invite said it was a district mini Mahanadu, only two MLAs -- Visakhapatnam South’s Vasupalli Ganesh Kumar who presided and Palla Srinivasa Rao from Gajuwaka attended it.
Telugu Desam district mini Mahanadu, a forerunner to the party’s Mahanadu at Hyderabad, turned its attention to corporation elections and the need to fulfil the promises made to the electorate.
Leaders exuded the confidence that the party would keep its major promises like waiver of loans and meeting the expectations of people.
Former MP M.V.V.S. Murthy said the party’s victory was a slap in the face for the 10-year Congress rule at the Centre and in the State. He said the alliance with the BJP was necessary to bring an able leadership at the Centre and though it cost him his seat.
Mr. Murthy said the cadres should now come together, analyse weaknesses and work out plans to win all the 72 wards in the corporation.
