No proactive steps

It is unfortunate that our officials react to an event and do not take proactive steps to prevent wrong doings.

For example the GVMC officials react after an unauthorised structure is completed and the field staff do nothing when the law is being violated.

The courts have faulted the situation and have directed that officials who were on duty when the violation occurred must be penalised.

Only then would the officials be on their toes and work efficiently.

New capital

The UPA Government at the Centre pushed the bifurcation down our unwilling throats. The Centre should at least leave the decision on location of the new capital for the State of Andhra Pradesh on the people and their elected representatives.

Visakhapatnam is the best suited to be made the capital of Andhra Pradesh as it is the biggest city in the State and has all the facilities,

Unhealthy practice

Fruit vendors are indiscriminately using chemicals for artificial ripening of fruits. Most of the chemicals used for the purpose are carcinogenic in nature, putting the consumer at great risk.

The officials should work hard to curb this unhealthy practice. Customers on their part should insist on naturally ripened fruits.

High expectations

Visakhapatnam must be made the capital of Andhra Pradesh. Our MP Haribabu should take steps to ensure that the city remains in focus of all development in the new State.

Further, there are a lot of expectations from the BJP and the TDP.

Power cut

There was a pleasant respite in load shedding after the State came under President’s Rule and the Governor took over the administration. Unfortunately, power cuts have resumed and neither the timings nor the duration are fixed, making it difficult for the consumers. The load shedding is inevitable but the power supply utility should at least intimate the timings and follow them sincerely.
