New corporation to take up housing projects

All group-housing projects in the city under the Central government’s housing programme will be taken up under the proposed Township Infrastructure Corporation.

The corporation is mooted to take up housing projects of the State government proposed in a big way in cities.

With the city getting 20,000 houses under the flagship “Housing for All” programme of the Central government, District Collector N. Yuvaraj held a meeting with MLAs on Thursday.

The selection of beneficiaries and identification of sites were discussed at the meeting.

Assembly constituency-wise joint teams will be formed to inspect the sites for construction of independent houses for which applications have been submitted.

Municipal Commissioner Pravin Kumar, MLAs Bandaru Satyanarayana Murthy, P.G.V.R. Naidu, V. Ramakrishna Babu, Vasupalli Ganesh Kumar and P. Vishnu Kumar Raju, UCD Project Director Srinivasan and Project Director (Housing) G.V. Prasad participated.
