In the run-up to Navy Week celebrations, ships will be open to general public on Saturday and Sunday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. On Friday, 260 special children from 12 schools across the city visited the frontline warship INS Satpura.

Captain Hari Krishnan, Commanding Officer, INS Satpura, was the chief guest for the programme.

The children were delightfully received onboard by naval personnel and their families. Besides getting an insight into the naval way of life, the children witnessed a cultural programme and magic show onboard the ship.

On Thursday and Friday, 2,000 students visited two warships of the Eastern Fleet — INS Kulish, a front line missile corvette commanded by Commander Sumeet Kapoor, and INS Magar, an amphibious ship commanded by Commander Soni Thomas.
