National Hindi seminar gets underway

A two-day Akhil Bharatiya Raj Bhasha Sammelan, involving scholars, writers, critics and novelists of Hindi literature from across the country, was inaugurated by Vice- Chairman of the Central Institute of Hindi Y. Lakshmi Prasad at GITAM University here on Thursday.

He described Visakhapatnam as the capital of ‘Raj Bhasha’ as Hindi was used in all government departments in the city. He underlined the importance of Hindi for politicians to represent regional problems at the national level.

Divisional Railway Manager Anil Kumar, Port Chairman M.T. Krishna Babu, Chief of Naval Staff Rear Admiral Pradeep Rana, GITAM University Vice-Chancellor G. Subrahmanyam, Registrar M. Potharaju, Andhra Bank Deputy General Manager G.V. Lalith Prasad, Director of the Central Institute of Hindi Mohan, its Registrar Chandra Kant Tripathi and former member of Rajya Sabha Ranjith Singh Surya were among those who spoke.

‘Raj Bhasha’ Shields were presented to various organisations, as per the new initiative of the Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD).
