TDP president N. Chandrababu Naidu’s padayatra will enter the district on April 12. Marking the culmination of the 208-day yatra, during which he will have covered 2,900 km, he will unveil a pylon at Boyapalem on April 27, Polit Bureau member Y. Ramakrishnudu, has said.
In the district, the yatra would continue for 12 days and on two Sundays the yatra would not take place, Mr. Ramakrishnudu told reporters here. Mr. Chandrababu Naidu would reach a place near Boyapalem on the night of April 26 itself. After continuing the yatra for sometime, he will unveil the pylon in the morning.
Mr. Ramakrishnudu said a public meeting would be organised in the city on April 27 evening. The venue is yet not decided. It could be Andhra University grounds or municipal grounds.
The senior TDP leader said Mr. Naidu started the yatra with the twin objectives of castigating corruption in the Congress rule and how welfare schemes took a hit. Though he had faced problems in the beginning, it was the people’s overwhelming response that propelled him.
Mr. Ramakrishnudu described YSRCP as a party synonymous with corruption.
Former Minister Bandaru Satanaryana Murthy, Garikapati Mohana Rao, MLAs V. Ramakrishnababu and K.S.N. Raju and Urban president Vasupalli Ganesh Kumar were present.
