MRPS chief for joint struggle

September 26, 2016 12:00 am | Updated November 01, 2016 09:07 pm IST - VISAKHAPATNAM:

Members of the Madiga caste and its sub-castes should wage a joint battle for achieving the long-pending demand for categorisation of Scheduled Castes (SCs), founder president of the Madiga Reservation Porata Samithi Manda Krishna Madiga has said.

Addressing a joint meeting of MRPS and Relli Associations here on Sunday, Mr. Krishna Madiga said the time was ripe for intensifying the agitation for categorisation of SCs as the Centre was favourable to the demand. He said that Madigas and its sub-castes were losing various benefits under the common quota of reservation for SCs.

He alleged that some vested interests among the SCs were opposing categorisation.
