Mothers of all age groups with their children who have accomplished so much in their lives with patience and perseverance have come together at a function organised to honour and appreciate motherhood by I.B.P. Century Club to mark Mother's Day on Sunday.
The evening was filled with traditional flavour where from youngest mothers to 87-year- old Mani Naidu took part in the celebrations enthusiastically. The students of Nataraj Music and Dance Academy performed classical dance numbers. Surprise gifts were given to oldest mother to the youngest one. A family with four generations—great grandmother, grandmother, mother and grand-daughter- was felicitated.
The club aired Telugu film songs with centred around mother. To pay tribute to motherhood, the day was celebrated for the first time on its premises, said secretary of the club Vasireddy Sreemanth. “We intend to conduct such events on a regular basis from now on,” he said.
The day was celebrated with fun and frolic and almost all the mothers took pride of their children for making it special. “My son prepared food for me today and I relished it happily,” said a mother with a broad smile. Retired Superintendent of KGH R. Sasiprabha was the chief guest.
