Wish to find out whether the precious diamond ornament in your possession is authentic or not, or check the authenticity of the rare piece that you are going to buy? Here is a chance to discover it.

As Kirtilals, a premier diamond jewellery retail chain, has come up with a portable solitaire laboratory, clients can now walk into the local showroom and check the properties of diamonds, identifying the cut and assessing the true value of their possession.

The portable lab has an optical microscope along with a set of three machines – Diamond Analyzer to check whether the stones studded in the ornament are authentic or lab-grown ones, Sarin Machine to identify the defects in the diamond cutting and symmetry, and Fluorescence to test the light of the stone by exposing it to ultraviolet rays.

The mobile lab, set up at a cost of Rs.60 lakh, has been sourced from De Beers, one of the leading diamond mining companies.

And it will be stationed in the city showroom for the next five days between 10.30 a.m. and 8 p.m.

Soon, the lab will move around other retail outlets across the country.
