A senior member of the Chandrababu Naidu Government Ch. Ayyanna Patrudu decided to avoid felicitations and wanted the money thus saved to be spent for a better cause.

“I have become Minister for the fifth time and there is no need for me to get felicitations. All the associations and others who want to felicitate me can donate the amount they are planning to spend to the fund for development of capital for Andhra Pradesh”, Mr. Patrudu, who has been in politics for the last 33 years and was appointed a minister when he was in his mid 20s after he was elected to the Assembly for the first time, by the then Chief Minister the late N. He made this announcement at a meeting where he met officers and staff of the departments that come under his Ministry.
