A group of Maoists has reportedly killed husband of a former MPTC of G.K. Veedhi who was doing seasonal business, near Kumkumpudi in G.K. Veedhi mandal on Sunday night.

According to reporters reaching here, the Maoists, after killing the trader Mukkali Gundu Rao by slitting open his neck, left a note saying that he had associated himself with the anti-naxal wing of the district police and passing on information about the party. Gundu Rao was warned in the past not to continue his activities but he did not take notice, the note said.

Gundu Rao, husband of Chandrakala - an MPTC from 2006 to 2010, was presently engaged in supplying tiles in construction activity. On Sunday night while he was coming back to G.K. Veedhi from Pedapadu village on a two-wheeler along with his younger brother Ramana, a person forced him to stop near Kumkumpudi.

After making Gundu Rao identify himself, the unidentified person sent Ramana to G.K. Veedhi and took Gundu Rao to a nearby place where four or five others were waiting. They allegedly killed Gundu Rao by slitting his neck and left a note. The G.K. Veedhi police has registered a case.
