Book on ‘Good plumbing practices’ brought out by IPA released

Stressing the importance of water conservation, Minister for HRD Ganta Srinivasa Rao said water consumption and conservation measures should be made a part of the Building Plan Approval (BPA). He was inaugurating a seminar on ‘Water conservation and plumbing standards’ organised by the Visakhapatnam chapter of Indian Plumbing Association at AMCOSA Hall on Saturday.

He complimented the organisers for holding the ‘first-of-its-kind’ meeting on the important issues. Realising the importance of conservation, the State government launched a programme on water conservation, he told the gathering. He released a book on ‘Good plumbing practices’ brought out by the IPA.

He also inaugurated a two-day exhibition on plumbing material, bathroom fittings, pipes and piping material. The products, including by reputed companies, are on display at 30 stalls.

IPA Visakhapatnam chapter chairman K. Leela Prasad, secretary Kumar Raja, national executive council member Vidyasagar and Rajagopal Reddy participated.

IPA National Technical Committee members P. Ramachandran and V. Srinivas made presentations on water conservation and water recycling and reuse respectively and Project Head, Jain Irrigation Systems, Madhusudan D. Chaudhari on piping material.
