Luggage scanner installed at railway station

A luggage scanner, installed on platform no.1 of Visakhapatnam Railway Station, was commissioned by the Divisional Railway Manager Anil Kumar on Monday.

The ECIL rap scanner, procured at a cost of about Rs.25 lakh, can work even during power cuts as it has a UPS (battery back up). It is equipped with a Network Device System, which facilitates operation of the scanner even from a remote computer.

Additional DRM M.L. Meena, Senior Divisional Commercial Manager Yelvender Yadav, Senior Divisional Security Commissioner P.K. Gupta were among those who participated in the inaugural function.

Branch Officers, Commercial Inspectors and Railway Protection Force (RPF) personnel attended.
