A seminar on liver diseases ‘Liv Up’ will be organised by the Department of Gastroenterology, Andhra Medical College, in collaboration with the Gut Club, Vizag, at Hotel Gateway on June 25.
Addressing a media conference in this connection on Friday, Emeritus Professor of Gastroenterology E. Pedaveerraju and HoD of Gastroenterology Girinadh said the last five years had seen new management protocols in Hepatitis C. The non-alcoholic fatty liver disease has now emerged as the challenge for the decade. Hepatitis B still has no definite cure.
Endoscopic tools like cholangioscopy and endoscopic ultrasound and advanced radiology techniques have greatly improved the diagnostic capabilities. The update on liver diseases was intended to share the knowledge on a common platform among physicians and family practitioners. Vice-Chancellor of Dr. NTR University of Health Sciences, Vijayawada, T. Ravi Raju, KGH Superintendent G. Arjuna, AMC Principal P.V. Sudhakar, president SGEI, Apollo Hospital, Kolkata, Mahesh Kumar Goenka, senior consultant gastroenterologist A.V. Siva Prasad will participate in the inaugural function.
