These were some of the reactions of the students who were part of the three-day free training programme: ‘Impact-2014’ hosted by Impact Foundation, Hyderabad. They said that overcoming fear of public speaking, counting the strengths, building self-confidence and breaking away from self-imposed limitations were some of the valuable lessons they have learnt during the session.
Most participants suggested that soft skill training should be an integral part of the curriculum so that they will not be pushed into an unknown world once they step out of the college.
Topics like quality building, empowering people, communication skills and interpersonal relations and parenting appeared to be instrumental in reaching out to the target audience.
Director of Sai Ganapathi Engineering College K. Rajendra Prasad Rao, one of the co-organisers, said that the session left a huge impact on the students who gathered in scores from Anakapalle, Vizianagaram and Visakhapatnam.
Gampa Nageshwar Rao of Impact Foundation said that the workshop aimed at encouraging the youth to become ‘job-ready’ by overcoming multiple fears.
