YSR Congress president Jaganmohan Reddy must give an affidavit to the people that he would not support the Congress in future, Telugu Desam MLA Payyavula Keshav said here on Wednesday.
Mr. Jaganmohan Reddy must spell out his stand to the people since he would hobnob with the Congress, TRS and BJP at different times and also discuss the possibility of a third front with Mamta Benerjee, Mr. Keshav said while talking to reporters.
The YSR Congress was confined to an area and the TRS to another area while the Telugu Desam has strong cadre in both regions and would win the next elections, Mr. Keshav said. The Telugu Desam having strong cadre in both regions was the reason for YSRC and TRS always attacking his party president N. Chandrababu Naidu, he said.
‘No clarity’On the Telangana bill, the TD leader said discussion must take place in the Assembly. “There is no clarity on the points made in the bill and we want clarity. Also we will tell during the discussion why a unified State is good. We are confident that bifurcation will not happen till 2014 elections,” he said.
TDP’s Rajya Sabha Member C.M. Ramesh felt that the bill might not be taken up by the Parliament during the special sessions to be held during February, 2014.
ProcedureThe procedure of the bill going from Assembly to the President, and form there to Home Ministry and the preparation of the draft bill would take at least one month while the vote on account budget would be introduced during second week of February leaving not much time for the bill, he felt.
