The trough of low on surface level running from Odisha to South Tamil Nadu across coastal Andhra Pradesh persists.

Moderate to rather heavy rain or thundershowers would occur at a few places over coastal Andhra Pradesh on August 21, 22, 23, and 24, according to the IMD website.

The trough would also result in moderate to rather heavy rain or thundershowers at a few places over Rayalaseema on August 21 and at isolated places over Rayalaseema during the next three days. The chief amounts of rainfall recorded in cm during the last 24 hours ending 8.30 a.m. on Thursday are: Jiyyammavalasa (Vizianagaram), Gummagatta (Anantapur), Owk (Kurnool), Gonegandla (Kurnool), and Brahmasamudram (Anantapur) — 4 each; Settur (Anantapur), Kunurpi (Anantapur), Ramagiri (Anantapur), Nandavaram (Kurnool), Parvathipuram (Vizianagaram), Cheepurupalle (Vizianagaram), Garividi (Vizianagaram), and Nandigama (Krishna) — 3 each; Kandukur (Prakasam), Seethanagaram (Vizianagaram), Paleru Bridge (Krishna), Atmakur (Kurnool), Kambadur (Anantapur), Atmakur (Anantapur), Aspari (Kurnool), Kanekal (Anantapur), Rudravaram (Kurnool), Alur (Kurnool), Dharmavaram (Anantapur) and Dhone (Kurnool) — 2 each.
