Isolated heavy rain likely

The southwest monsoon has been active over Rayalaseema. The trough on sea level, running from Odisha to South Tamil Nadu across coastal Andhra Pradesh, persists. The upper air cyclonic circulation over west central Bay of Bengal off north coastal Andhra Pradesh now lies over North coastal Andhra Pradesh and South Odisha and adjoining West central Bay of Bengal and extends up to 5.8 km above mean sea level.

Heavy rain is very likely to occur at isolated places in the districts of East and West Godavari, Srikakulam, Vizianagaram and Visakhapatnam of coastal AP on Friday.

The chief amounts of rainfall (in cm) which occurred during the last 24 hours, ending at 8.30 a.m., on Thursday are: Garividi (Vizianagaram) 10, Cheepurupalle (Vizianagaram) 9, Bobbili (Vizianagaram) 9, Merakamudidam (Vizianagaram) 8, Palakonda (Srikakulam) 6, Balajipeta (Vizianagaram) 4, Therlam (Vizianagaram) 3 and Mentada (Vizianagaram) 3

Rayalaseema: Pattikonda (Kurnool) 8, Peapally (Kurnool) 6, Proddutur (Kadapa) 3, Chapad (Kadapa) 3, Devanakonda (Kurnool) 3, Nandavaram (Kurnool) 3, Nallamada (Anantapur) 3 and Kamalapuram (Kadapa) 3.
