May 26, 2013 02:57 pm | Updated 02:57 pm IST - VISAKHAPATNAM:

An APCLC fact finding committee which visited villages in Vellanki panchayat to verify allegations of irregularities committed by Anandapuram mandal tahsildar in allocation of Indiramma housing found truth in the allegations.

The committee consisting of APCLC leaders V.Chittibabu, T. Srirama Murthy and G. Raghuram stated that during their interaction with the people of Daripeta and Bodlapalem, the people accused the tehsildar of allotting 2-3 houses to members of a single family. Many genuine eligible persons, including 50 beneficiaries of SC and BC origin, were not part of the beneficiaries list prepared by the official.

The APCLC committee urged the District Collector to squash the present allotments and prepare a fresh list incorporating all the names of eligible beneficiaries.
