Industries in the city paid rich tributes to Dr. B.R. Ambedkar on the occasion of his 123 birth anniversary on Monday.
At a programme at Ukkunagaram, RINL Chairman-cum-Managing Director P. Madhusudan garlanded the statue of Dr. Ambedkar amid chanting of ‘Jai Bheem’ from large number of participants at the sprawling Ambedkar Park at Ukkunagaram.
Senior officials including Umesh Chandra, Director (Operations), Y.R. Reddy, Director (Personnel), P.C. Mohapatra, Director (Projects), P. Ramulu Executive Director (Automation), deputy general managers M.V.R. Prasad, B. Nayak and others were present along with Steel Executive Association president Madhav Rao, union leaders D. Adhinarayana, N. Rama Rao, Mantri Rajsekhar, Bayye Mallayya, S. Appala Raju, V. Srinivas Rao, J. Ayodhyaram, Gandham Venkat Rao, Y. Mastanappa and B. Pydiraju.
As part of Ambedkar Jayanti, NTPC Simhadri organised a meeting where Group General Manager A.K. Samanta spoke on his ideals and contributions for the welfare of the marginalised sections.
