Anakapalle MP Muttamsetty Srinivasa Rao and MLA Peela Govinda Satyanarayana wanted action to solve the problems relating to water supply at Anakapalle in view of the summer situation.

They also wanted action to resolve the dumping yard issue hanging fire for a long time.

At a meeting on the summer situation at Anakapalle on Tuesday, the MP wanted officials to take steps and ensure adequate water supply in Anakapalle zone.

The MLA said leakages to pipelines were affecting supply and in spite of having funds officials were not taking preventive steps. Community toilets badly needed repairs.

Municipal Commissioner Pravin Kumar said the supply would be increased from 6 MLD to 10 MLD in the next fortnight.

A total of Rs.35 lakh would be spent on improving water supply.

A survey of toilets would be taken up and steps initiated in the next five days to get them repaired.

They inspected the toilets in Ward 14.
