GVMC to cancel plan approval for apartment

March 02, 2012 03:12 pm | Updated 03:12 pm IST - VISAKHAPATNAM:

Stating that facts were suppressed and building plan approval was obtained against the High Court and the Supreme Court judgments on open spaces, the GVMC has decided to cancel the plan approved for the construction of an apartment complex at Sector II of MVP Colony, Municipal Commissioner B. Ramanjaneyulu has said.

He said GVMC had gone by the registration done by VUDA which was the apex body.

VUDA should have informed the location of open sites to the Registration Department or alternately, should have transferred the open spaces to the local body, he felt.

On the issue of construction of a food court on the Beach Road, he said a report had been sent to the government on how its orders were followed but objections raised by various sections were incorporated. However, the approval of the State-level Committee had to be obtained for construction in CRZ II area, he added.
