The State Government is planning to construct an IT tower on the campus of Andhra University, Minister for HRD Ganta Srinivasa Rao said here on Saturday.

The IT tower would help the university gain some income, he said. State government officials from Hyderabad would visit the campus in a few days and discuss the project with the university officials.

The Minister visited the AU Convention Centre, which is under construction, and told the officials to complete it in four months.

Vice-Chancellor in-charge E.A. Narayana, Registrar V. Umamaheswara Rao, Dean (College Development Council), T. Koteswara Rao, Chief Engineer Madhava Babu and MLAs Ganababu and V. Ramakrishna Babu and others were present as Mr. Srinivasa Rao went round the building.

On the NEET issue, the Minister said three issues would be discussed in depth after Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu returned from his foreign tour on Sunday.

The issues are making efforts to get a relaxation for State students from NEET this year as they have not prepared suitably; whether to release the ranks of medical and agriculture stream of EAMCET so that admissions into agriculture and veterinary courses could be taken up; and waiting for the development as the Centre is submitting a petition before the Supreme Court’s vacation bench. An option being considered is placing the EAMCET results on the website.
