Vundavalli Arun Kumar, MP, has asked investors to take the help of Chartered Accountants and leading investor units while investing in the capital market and choose the low risk options. He was speaking after inaugurating “investors' awareness programme” organised by the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India in association with the Investor Education and Protection Fund of MCA here on Saturday. “The investor has several options with a risk factor. But, it is better to invest in nationalised banks, even though the rate of interest is low,” the MP observed.
On the objectives of the programme, V. Seshagiri Varaprasad, senior Chartered Accountant and Chairman of Rajamahendravaram branch SIRC of ICAI said that the programme was designed to explain the importance of auditors report and its impact on investment decisions, importance of CAs and to brief various investment options.
J. Sanath Kumar, Reader, Department of Commerce, Government College, said there were short-term and long-term financial investment options available for Indian investors such as savings bank, money market funds, bank fixed deposits, post office savings schemes, PPF, and company fixed deposits. He suggested that in the present scenario it was better to go for short-term investment as the interest rates were fluctuating.
