Girls’ hostels at model schools soon: Ganta

All the girls’ hostels, construction of which has been completed, in model schools will be inaugurated by the month-end, HRD Minister Ganta Srinivasa Rao has said.

The hostels had been built with all modern facilities, he said at Tegada in Kasimkota mandal where he inspected a model school on Wednesday.

The girls’ hostel in the school should be readied for inauguration, he said.

He interacted with students and tested their knowledge.

In the State 163 model schools are set up with a cost of ₹ 662 crore to impart education from Class VI to Intermediate with each school accommodating 500 students, the HRD Minister said.

Earlier, at Kannurupalem, Mr. Srinivasa Rao administered measles and rubella vaccine to students.

Addressing a meeting, the Minister said 17 % of the State’s budget, ₹ 23,209 crore was being spent on education and of that ₹ 12,000 crore infrastructure in schools.

Joint Collector G Srijana, MLC Gade Srinivasulu Naidu, MLAs Peela Govinda Satyanarayana and V Anitha, DM&HO Ramesh and DEO Nagamani participated in the meeting.
