Gangavaram Port sets record in discharge of non-coking coal

Gangavaram Port has set a record by discharging 1,56,339 tonne of non-coking coal from Merchant Vessel Cape Asia in 24 hours.

“This achievement stands out as the fastest discharge rate in the history of any port in India and possibly in the world,” the port said in a release.

The entire vessel discharge of 1,59,966 tonne meant for Hindalco Industries was completed within 27 hours. Ganagavaram Port Limited Managing Director Raj Dandu stated that the record discharge rate yet again reaffirmed their superior port infrastructure and operational efficiency.

Milestones

Gangavaram Port, in the past, has achieved numerous such operational milestones and has today redefined the port operational standards for the bulk cargo handling at Indian Ports, the release stated.
