Forensic team collects evidence from blast site

A team of experts from the AP Forensic Science Laboratory visited the SMS-II, i.e., the Pressure Reduction Station (PRS) in the Visakhapatnam Steel Plant, where a blast took place recently, killing 19 employees, including some officers of VSP.

The team led Assistant Director Madhushree Konala inspected the control room minutely and collected several objects from the scene of offence to find out whether the material used in the construction of PRS station was sub-standard, possible human negligence on part of the contractors and sub-contractors and irregularities in the design itself. Inspector Ch. Pentarao and SI Ganesh assisted the forensic team in collecting the material objects. Deputy Commissioner of Police (L&O) B. Bala Krishna also visited scene of offence and interacted with Forensic officers. VSP GM Hariharan, DGM s K.V.Ramana Rao, Sudhakar and Ratan Babu were present.
