Food inspector in ACB net

Anti Corruption Bureau (ACB) officials caught a gazetted food inspector while he was allegedly demanding and accepting a bribe amount of ₹ 10,000 through an associate, here on Tuesday. The accused has been identified as D.V. Veerabhadra Rao.

According to DSP ACB K. Ramakrishna Prasad, the main accused and his office subordinate G. Apparao together allegedly demanded the bribe from the complainant a shop owner for managing a case booked against him some time back.

They allegedly received the cash through a private assistant Y. Rajesh on Tuesday.

Rajesh was subjected to chemical test and both his hands tested positive, said the DSP.

A case has been booked and all three have been taken into custody, he said.
