What do you do when a stranger attacks you from behind? How do you defend yourself when two unidentified persons catch hold of your arms? How do you react when someone tries to snatch your chain on the road?

By following a few simple techniques, you can actually knock down the offender and can literally freeze him. The self-defence techniques were well demonstrated by the members of Akhil Bharatiya Marwadi Mahila Samiti who gathered in scores at one of the city hotels to celebrate International Women’s Day. The trainer,

Pramod Chandra. along with a volunteer also shared a few useful tips on how to defend oneself. The hall was packed with women and young girls, who spent the rest of the evening playing games such as ‘tambola’ and ‘housie’.

And many of the participants walked away with surprise gifts. As part of the celebrations, Ch. Satya of Sampoorna Physically Handicapped Welfare Association, visually-challenged teacher of Lebenshilfe Special School Noorjahan and one of the teachers at Omkar Lions School for Deaf and Dumb S. Sridevi were honoured for rendering decades of service to society.

President of the samiti Manju Rathi, vice-president Sangita Rathi and secretary of Shalu Agarwal along with other invitees were present.
