First despatch of coils from Vizag Steel Plant WRM-2

The first despatch of 7 mm plain coils from the state-of-the-art, newly-commissioned Wire Rod Mill- 2 was flagged off on Friday from the mill’s shipping bay. Executive Director (Works) in-charge D.N. Rao handed over the documents to Executive Director (Marketing) R. Shankar.

The most modern and sophisticated WRM-2 was built at a cost of around Rs. 900 crore.

RINL CMD P. Madhusudan congratulated the WRM collective on achieving the milestone from the new mill. However, achieving full capacity and sustaining the production levels is important.

Earlier, the Shipping Office was inaugurated by Mr. Rao. A.V. Ramaraju and P. Bhanuprakash along with senior officials from the Rolling Mill – Projects, MECON, IT Department and QATD & Marketing participated.

Executive Director (Maintenance) D.S. Sastry and General Managers of various wings were present.
