EPFO adalat to be organised on March 10

The Employees’ Provident Fund Organisation, Sub Regional Office, will be conducting ‘Bhavishyanidhi Adalat’ on March 10 at its office at Marripalem VUDA Layout, NAD Post, to redress the grievances of EPF subscribers falling under the purview of the Employees Provident Funds and Miscellaneous Act, 1952.

All EPF subscribers (Visakhapatnam, Vizianagaram, and Srikakulam) are advised to address their grievances to the Assistant PF Commissioner (B.N. Adalat), Visakhapatnam, and send them through post or courier or fax to 0891-2558734 or email tosro.vizag@epfindia.gov.in.

Further, any PF member requiring assistance in transferring/settlement/tracing out his/her unclaimed accounts may also apply with proof of last employment PF account number or with details of the establishment last served.

The Central PF Commissioner has made online filing of return on particulars of ownership of all establishments covered under the Employees Provident Funds and Miscellaneous Act, 1952, mandatory.

The deadline for filing of the said return in Form 5A is March 31. Failure to file the return online within the deadline will amount to non-submission of statutory return and also render the defaulting establishment liable for action as provided under Section 14 of the Act.

To assist the employers, helpdesks have been set up at the Sub Regional Office, Visakhapatnam, as well as at offices in Vizianaragam and Srikakulam.

Administrative charge

The employers of the establishment covered under the Employees Provident Funds and Miscellaneous Act, 1952, located in the three districts are informed that the administrative charge payable under the EPF scheme has been reduced from 1.10 per cent to 0.85 per cent.

The minimum administrative charge has been revised to Rs. 500 (EPF Account Number 2) and Rs. 200 (EDLI Account Number 22) for regular establishments and Rs. 75 and Rs. 25 for EPF and EDLI respectively for non-functional establishments having no contributory members.

The notification is effective from January 1, 2015.
