Environment clinic on April 28

An ‘Environment clinic’ (interaction meet) is being organised by the AP Pollution Control Board (APPCB) to ‘resolve the pollution issues pertaining to pharma industries in Visakhapatnam zone’ at Novotel hotel on April 28.

The areas to be covered in the meet include: issues on operation and maintenance of reverse osmosis plants/solvent stripping systems/multiple effect evaporators/ATFD; issues on operation and maintenance of biological treatment systems/marine discharge systems/reduction of CODs, issues on operation and maintenance of odour control systems from individual industries and CETP s (scrubbers/condensers/ANFD), issues on reuse of hazardous waste in cement industries/other co-processing industries and issues on continuous effluent/emission monitoring systems (bio-assay test/web cameras/VOC monitors).

Additional Director of CPCB, New Delhi, Paritosh Kumar, Scientist-D, CPCB, Deenabandu Gouda, Chief Scientist of NIO (Visakhapatnam) NPC Reddy, Scientist from Andhra University B. Charan Kumar and Ch. Subrahmanyam of IIT, Hyderabad are expected to attend.
