Entrepreneurship does not start after your degree; it starts from day one when you join the college, CEO of Symbiosis Technologies O. Naresh Kumar has observed. Delivering the keynote address at the inaugural of Business Line Club at Integral Institute of Advanced Management (IIAM), a programme sponsored by Tata Photon Plus, he predicted that trend of campus recruitments would change in the future when the employers look for candidates with high attendance and high marks on display. He advised students to delete all bad things and negative emotions and the day they carried emotional baggage – of love and hatred, they would become nobody. Asked how he faced the competitive world, Mr. Naresh Kumar replied: “Forget about competition. It'll increase every day. You've to provide more services of better quality for lesser price. Think of what you have to offer and whatever the customer wants, you provide it first.”
The guest speaker quoted ace cricketer Virender Sehwag, who was once asked which bowler he feared most and pat came the reply that the batsman only dealt on merit the balls bowled at him and never looked at the reputation of the bowler.
He said it was necessary to invest in employees, give them proper training and utilise their services to achieve results.
“Invest your time and money in normal people. Put the interests of everybody on top,” he said.
For, it was not always possible to get the best and brightest in a small city like Visakhapatnam.
Favoured IT destination
On the future of the city, Mr. Naresh Kumar said he was projecting it as a favoured IT destination, with the chances here improving after the Telangana movement. There would be nearly 25,000 jobs generated in the next five years, he opined.
Regional COO of Tata Teleservices Ltd., S. Ramakrishna spoke on the telecom revolution. “Every crime today is directly or indirectly cracked through cell phone,” he said. When haute leadership and integrity came together, you got long time sustained results, he said.
