e-muster in NREGS, says Collector

Steps are being taken to extend the e-muster in the Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme (NREGS), introduced by the District Administration, all over the country and the method adopted by it in the sale of generic drugs, all over the State.

This was informed by Collector J. Syamala Rao at a press conference here on Wednesday.

Scribes' protest

Members of the Greater Visakha unit of the AP Union of Working Journalists held a demonstration near the Gandhi statue opposite GVMC main office near here on Wednesday in protest against the Government going against the recommendations of Press Council of India not to appointment of police officers responsible for attacks on media personnel on the OU campus on February 14 and 15, in positions that do not come into contact with media. Union president Dabbir Ravi Kumar and others participated in a one-day relay hunger strike as part of a State-wide protest programme.
