Educational kits distributed

Educational kits, worth Rs.1,300 each, were distributed among 250 children residing at Kobbarithota and Bhupesh Nagar here on Thursday.

The programme, jointly organised by the Child Rights Advocacy Foundation, Vijayawada, and the Visakha Forum for Child Rights, aimed at reaching out to the victims of cyclone Hudhud.

Children living in neighbouring slum areas also made their way to the venue to collect their kits that were packed with books and stationery.

Shoes too given

This apart, a pair of shoes was also given away to the needy children.

Visakhapatnam South MLA Vasupalli Ganesh Kumar participated as chief guest. Convener of Viskha Forum for Child Rights R.D. Sampath Kumar and members of the forum, including Narava Prakasa Rao and T. Vijaya Lakshmi, took part in the programme.
