Duronto to have commercial halt at Vizianagaram

In line with the decision of the Ministry of Railways to provide commercial stoppages to the non-stop Duronto Express, the Howrah-Yesvantpur-Howrah Duronto Express, which has a technical halt at Vizianagaram, has been provided a commercial halt there.

In response to the report on Yesvantpur Duronto halt at Vizianagaram, which was published in these columns on October 3,

Senior Divisional Commercial Manager Waltair Division of the East Coast Railways M. Yelvendar Yadav in a statement here on Saturday clarified that the train was not provided halt at Visakhapatanam.

The Ministry of Railways have decided to provide commercial stoppages to Duronto Express at some stations where, at present, there are technical halts for crew change and watering of coaches.

Hence, the Howrah-Yesvantpur-Howrah Duranto express, which had a technical halt at Vizianagaram, has been provided with a commercial halt there, but not at Visakhapatnam as the train bypassed the city, the officer said.
