Three-year-old Vasupalli Siddu has reportedly suffered low vision following reaction after he was administered drugs in KGH.

The family members along with over 200 people staged a dharna in front of the KGH Superintendent’s office, here on Thursday.

The parents said Siddu was undergoing treatment for TB.

“However, after two months, the boy’s eyesight started diminishing. When we approached a corporate hospital, we were told that it was due to reaction of medicines prescribed by KGH doctors,” the parents alleged.

South MLA Vasupalli Ganesh Kumar reached the spot and spoke to the KGH Superintendent, who informed the MLA that the medicines probably reacted adversely and it was not a serious issue.

The eye sight can be regained if the medicines were discontinued, the KGH Superintendent said.

MLA’s gesture

The MLA gave away ₹5,000 to parents of the boy and asked them to take the child to a good eye hospital for treatment.
