CRPF Chief Medical Officer Poonam Choudhary took timely action and rescued a lineman of the APEPDCL who was electrocuted and hanging from electric wires and helped him survive the mishap on Friday.

The CMO of CRPF 198 Battalion, who was going to office in the morning, saw lineman Damodar, who was electrocuted, hanging from live electric wires on the Beach Road near Tenneti Park. She immediately reached the spot and with the help of her driver Satish Kumar and escort person P Babu Rao and some passersby brought Damodar down from the pole and provided immediate first aid and cardiac massage on the spot.

She took the patient to the nearest hospital, where after administering a few injections the doctors suggested that he be shifted to a super specialty hospital. Dr Choudhary took the injured lineman to Seven Hills Hospital and coordinated the emergency treatment without losing precious time. Due to her presence and proactive treatment Damodar regained consciousness and the doctors too declared him out of danger. EPDCL AE Kasi Babu, who reached the hospital, thanked the CMO and her team for timely medical attention.
