The newly-formed Andhra Pradesh chapter of Confederation of Real Estate Developers’ Associations of India will try to inculcate a sense of self-discipline among its members and press for implementation of various rules and GOs uniformly across the State.
A.P. Chairman K. Subba Raju said CREDAI would take up, among other things, issues relating to vacant land tax, preparation of master plans and identification of commercial zones, incentives for affordable housing, a single taxation system and exemption for projects above 2,000 square yards.
He was addressing a press conference here on Tuesday along with President Are Siva Reddy and Secretary Alla Siva Reddy after the first Management Committee meeting.
He stressed the importance of members of all the 14 chapters of CREDAI sticking to the code of conduct of the confederation and be transparent in their business. “It should be a win-win situation for buyers and builders. For instance, the norms of the National Building Code should be followed in apportioning common areas,” Mr. Subba Raju said.
Also the Consumer Redressal Cells of CREDAI should try to resolve disputes relating to construction, amenities, infrastructure and payment schedules amicably. The Visakhapatnam chapter had been able to resolve more than 10 such problems.
Cement price hikeMr. Are Siva Reddy regretted the Andhra Pradesh Government not responding to the abnormal hike of cement price by manufacturers. The State Government should pay attention to the issue as the livelihood of crores of people was affected and it might lead to a serious situation if remained unresolved.
He said builders were ready to play their role in the construction of the new capital and it was represented to the Chief Minister during his visit to Vijayawada.
Secretary Alla Siva Reddy said CREDAI would co-operate with the government and try to resolve the problems of builders.
