Let yourself free while you explore the magical world of art. It makes one enjoy what he or she does. And at the end, you create something interesting yet meaningful out of nothing, said popular artiste and anchor of Pogo channel Rob.
“Like doctors and scientists, society needs artistes too. Everyone loves to do what they like. I am happy to get paid for my skill. Above all, it gives immense pleasure when your hobby turns out to be a profession,” he told The Hindu while visiting 91.1 FM Radio City.
The living icon of art guru from Mumbai is very fond of the City of Destiny. “The city looks beautiful with its beaches. And I happen to see many parents attending my workshop along with their children. I appreciate those who encourage their kids to pursue art as a career because it is a beautiful profession. Creativity enhances your thought process and it has to be nurtured and encouraged by all means,” he said. What makes Rob so popular among children for the last eight years is the way he presents the show using innovative techniques like blowing, spraying other than painting with cards and sponge. Apart from anchoring, he is presently preoccupied with animation, photography, drawing, installation art and presenting shows. “Art is a vast field and there is so much to explore and experiment. Being in the creative world, you need to know more in order to present better. Otherwise the profession loses its charm.”
Cautioning the children while at work, he suggested, “Little cuts would always make the kids learn from their mistakes. But yes, until they are comfortable enough to hold sharp appliances, they should be under elder’s supervision.”
Creativity never bores Rob and as an artiste, he says, one should never stop learning. “To be successful in life, you have to love what you do. If you are cooking, you enjoy doing it everyday. Similarly, I enjoy when I present a show and it turns out to be beautiful as I do it spontaneously,” he added.
