CPI(M): declare health emergency

July 04, 2017 01:21 am | Updated 01:21 am IST - VISAKHAPATNAM

Prajarogya Vedika, State-level sub committee of CPI(M), has demanded declaration of ‘health emergency’ in the Agency areas and filling of the vacant posts of doctors and paramedical staff and providing round-the-clock medical services in the Agency areas.

The committee members Ch. Narasinga Rao and K. Lokanadham, said though hundreds of tribal people were dying due to malaria every year, the State had failed to take preventive measures.

They said the State government had promised to provide safe drinking water in all villages. But, three years after coming to power, not even one village was provided water under that scheme.
