Four members of a family, including two children, allegedly committed suicide at Arilova on Thursday evening.
The deceased were identified as D. Rajesh Reddy and his wife Sowmya and their two children Vishnuteja (9) and Jahnavi (5).
According to Dwarka Zone ACP Ramachandra Rao, both Rajesh and Sowmya were natives of Prakasam district and had moved to Visakhapatnam around six months ago.
In a suicide note Rajesh had stated that they were compelled to take the extreme step due to family disputes and acute financial problems.
The couple hung themselves from the ceiling fan after administering some poison to children. They are found lying dead by neighbours, the ACP said.
