In an effort to provide skills and insights into various subjects to youth seeking employment, Visakhapatnam Public Library, Centre for Policy Studies and India Youth for Society, came together and organised a symposium on Sunday.

Library Chairman S. Vijay Kumar, who presided, said it was decided to hold monthly programmes on technical and scientific subjects also to help students prepare better for competitive examinations.

Addressing the symposium ‘working for a non-violent future’ on the eve of Independence Day, Director of School of Law, GITAM University, Y. Satyanarayana, said in democracy violence was visible whereas in other dispensations it was suppressed.

“Violence is motivated by linguistic, religious, regional and cultural differences but Constitution had a solution to each of the problems but we are not adopting them,” Prof. Satyanarayana said.
