Congress leaders formed a human chain and blocked the traffic at busy Maddilapalem junction here on Sunday morning for nearly an hour in protest against the NDA government for ‘ignoring’ the interests of A.P. in the budget.
“There is no provision in the budget for any of the assurances given in the AP Reorganisation Act. Worse, the government has hiked the taxes on petroleum fuels jacking up the prices. This increase is bound to impact inflation and prices of essentials,” APCC general secretary Dronamraju Srinivasa Rao said. The government discriminated against the State that too in the first budget after the State was bifurcated. Leader of alliance partner and Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu himself expressed his discontent, he pointed out.
